Meet Sunny Park at Institute of Spinal Disorders

Sungjin “Sunny” Park completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s of Mathematics in 2006. He went on to serve in the US Army originally as a Medic. He obtained his nursing license through the Army License Practical Nurse Course at Fort Lewis. Once he completed his training, he was stationed at William Beaumont Army Medical Center at Fort Bliss. After completing his military service, he started working as an Infusion Nurse in Houston for a Rheumatology group. In 2015, Sunny completed his Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies at Idaho State University. During his training, he worked with many physicians in the specialties of Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, General Surgery and Orthopedic Spine Surgery.

Sunny has been with the Institute of Spinal Disorders team since 2015. He feels very welcomed since he shares many of the same core values. He enjoys the challenges of a Physician Assistant since there is nothing more rewarding than helping a patient.

Outside of his professional work, Sunny enjoys fly fishing and watching many collegiate and professional sports. He is an avid Longhorns and Mavericks fan.
